Why 'Crucible'?

On first glance, crucibles look just like ordinary containers, but any scientist or jeweler will tell you that they are in fact shatterproof protective vessels that must be able to withstand far higher temperature and pressure than their contents in order for their contents to successfully complete their change of state.

During the firing process, a crucible protects metals in transition as they merge, combine and undergo changes of state. The result of that protection is an alloy - a durable end product stronger than the sum of its parts.

Anyone can buy a crucible. But its full potential is unleashed in the hands of skilled craftspeople - like bench jewelers who have learned how to work with fire. Just like intelligent, specialized tools are most powerful in the hands of a trained professional - a case manager or journey coordinator - as they manage complex journeys under constant pressure.
